Ingredients
- 6 ounces package long grain and wild rice pkg
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 8 ounces italian Sausage
- 1 stick unsalted butter
- 2 cups sliced onions
- 2 cups sliced celery
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 6 cups baguette, cubed and stale
- ½ cup fresh parsley
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh sage
- 1 cup low sodium chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes and salt, EACH
Directions
Cook rice according to directions, discard seasoning packet and oil. Coat a three quart dish with cooking spray. Heat oil, brown sausage and cook until done. Cook. Melt butter in same skillet. Add onion and celery for 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook 2 minutes. Toss bread with sausage, onion mixture and rice. Stir in parsley, sage, broth, salt, and pepper flakes. Transfer to prepared dish. Bake at 450° and approximately 30 minutes. |
