Ingredients

  • 6 ounces package long grain and wild rice pkg
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 8 ounces italian Sausage
  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 2 cups sliced onions
  • 2 cups sliced celery
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 6 cups baguette, cubed and stale
  • ½ cup fresh parsley
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh sage
  • 1 cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes and salt, EACH

Directions

Cook rice according to directions, discard seasoning packet and oil.
Coat a three quart dish with cooking spray. Heat oil, brown sausage and cook until done. Cook.
Melt butter in same skillet. Add onion and celery for 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook 2 minutes.
Toss bread with sausage, onion mixture and rice. Stir in parsley, sage, broth, salt, and pepper flakes. Transfer to prepared dish.
Bake at 450° and approximately 30 minutes.
