Ingredients
- ⅔ cup butter
- 1 ½ cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups sifted flour
- ¾ teaspoon baking powder
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- ⅔ cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions
1. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift together the dry ingredients. Add sifted ingredients to creamed mixture, alternating with milk and vanilla. |
2. Do not overmix. Pour batter into a greased and floured loaf pan. Bake at 325° for about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours, or until a wooden pick or cake tester inserted in center comes out clean. |
