Ingredients
- 6 medium baking potatoes, sliced thin
- 1 ¼ cup heavy cream 36% fat
- ¼ cup whole milk
- ¼ cup unsalted butter
- salt and white pepper to taste
- clove garlic-peeled and sliced
- ¼ teaspoon rosemary
- 1 cup Parmesan Cheese, grated
Directions
Rinse sliced potatoes well. In bowl, combine cream, milk, pepper and salt. Add sliced potatoes to the mixture and let rest a few minutes. Grease a 10 inch round baking dish with butter. (liberally) Pour a small amount of the mixture into the baking dish. Enough liquid to coat the pan bottom. Layer the bottom of the dish with potatoes. Dot with butter, salt and pepper to taste. Then pour a small amount of the liquid over the layer. Continue laying as above, alternating potatoes and liquid until 2.5 inches from the top. (just below the top of the dish) Sprinkle with parmesan, garlic and rosemary. Cover with foil and bake at 350° for 1.75 hours. |
