Ingredients
- 2 cups Elbow mac, uncooked
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 cups milk
- ¼ cup onion, minced
- salt and pepper to taste
- ¼ pound processed cheese
- ¼ pound cheddar cheese, shredded
- ¼ pound Swiss cheese, shredded
Directions
Cook macaroni and drain. Melt butter in saucepan over medium high heat. Stir in flour to form a paste. Add milk, stir until thickens. Spread 1/2 of the mac into the bottom of a 9x13 greased baking dish. Then layer 1/2 the grated onion, half of the salt and pepper, and the cheeses. Repeat layers, pour over the white sauce, top with small pats of butter. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes. |
