Ingredients

  • 6 eggs
  • 1 ½ cups half and half
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 10 slices day old French bread, one inch thick
  • butter for frying

Directions

Combine eggs, half and half, vanilla, sugar, and slat. Pour over bread in a shallow pan. Turn bread once. Refrigerate overnight.
Fry each slice in butter until golden brown. Place fried slices on baking sheet. Bake at 450° for approximately 5 minutes.
