Ingredients

  • 1.5 sticks butter
  • 1.5 cups flour, self rising
  • 1 ¼ cups sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • ¾ cups milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1.5 cups sugar
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • 2.5 cups boiling water

Directions

Melt butter in the oven in 9x13 casserole dish. Mix flour, 1 1/4C sugar and 2 tablespoons of cocoa. Add milk and vanilla, mix well.
Pour mixture over the butter. DO NOT STIR.
Mix together 1.5 c sugar and 1/2 c cocoa. Sprinkle over batter. DO NOT STIR. Pour boiling water over the top. DO NOT STIR. Bake at 350° for 35 minutes. NOTE: will be runny in the bottom of the dish.
Self rising flour recipe= 3/4 c flour, 1 teas baking powder, 1/4 t salt
