Ingredients

  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 14.5 ounces chicken broth
  • 2 whole cloves
  • 2 green cardamom pods
  • 1 tablespoon cumin seed
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • small onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 pcs lemon peel

Directions

Soak rice for 20 minutes, drain. Heat 2 T oil, add the spices and saute for one minute. Add rice and stir for a minute, then add onion. Add broth, bring to boil, add lemon peel, cover, simmer for 15 minutes.
