Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • ½ cup butter flavored shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 cups cake flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 ⅔ cups powdered sugar
  • 6 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

Cream butter, shortening and sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs and extracts. Combine dry ingredients and add to mixture.
Divide dough into thirds; wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours.
Roll out 1/8 inch thickness.
Bake at 375° for 8-10 minutes.
Mix the frosting ingredients together and frost when cool.
