Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 1-2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 quart cold water
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • beef stock
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3-4 bay leaf
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • vinegar

Directions

Stir together 3 cups flour, eggs and salt. Add water, 1/2 cup at a time. Drop mixture in boiling water in thin strips. When it floats to the top, remove and put in cold water bath.

Drain and top with the gravy.

Melt the butter, add flour until golden brown. Start to pour in stock until you have a thick viscous sauce, season with sour cream, vinegar, leaves, salt and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes, remove bay leaves before serving.
