Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chuck beef
  • 8 ounces mushrooms-chopped
  • ½ cup onion-chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic-minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup frozen peas-thawed
  • 2 cups frozen hash browns
  • cup green onions greens, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • paprika

Directions

Preheat oven to 375°. Brown together the chuck, mushrooms, onion, garlic, salt and pepper. Once browned, add worcestershire sauce, flour, broth and cream. Simmer together until the mixture thickens. Combine the hashbrowns, green onion tops, 1 cup of the cheese, salt and mayo. Put the meat mixture in a glass 9 x 13 pan. Sprinkle with peas. Top with the hashbrown mixture. Sprinkle with remaining 1 cup of cheese and top with paprika. Bake for 45 minutes. Let rest 5-10 minutes before serving.
