Ingredients

  • 1 package yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ½ cup warm skim milk (between 105 and 115 degrees F)
  • ½ cup butter
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 4 cups flour

Directions

1. Mix together yeast, 1 tablespoon sugar and warm water. Set aside to rise. Scald milk and 1/2 cup butter. Cool completely. Add 1/2 cup sugar, salt and eggs to milk mixture. Add yeast mixture. Add enough flour to create very sticky batter. Set aside to rise for 3 to 4 hours.
2. Turn half of dough onto floured board. Knead and roll out into circle. Using pizza cutter, slice dough into wedges. Beginning at large end, roll up each wedge. Let rise 2-4 hours.
3. Bake at 325° for 12-14 minutes.
