Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
- 1.5 teaspoons salt
- 1 tablespoon instant yeast
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons oil
- cornmeal, to sprinkle
- ¼ cup water
Directions
In mixer with paddle, add flour, sugar, salt, soda, and yeast. Stir to combine. In microwaveable bowl, combine milk, water, and oil. Heat to 120-130°. Pour hot liquid over dry ingredients. Beat at high for one minute. Dough will be soft and sticky. Lightly grease a loaf pan and sprinkle the sides and bottom with cornmeal. With a spatula (sprayed with cooking spray), scoop dough into pan. Cover and let rise. Approximately 1 hour. Remove cover and bake for 22-27 minutes at 400° or until the interior temp is 190°. Let set 5 minutes and remove from pan onto a wire rack. |
